Life Story for Virginia Fitch

VIRGINIA FITCH, 86 of Martinsville, VA formerly of Abingdon, MD died in the home of her daughter on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Born on August 22, 1932 in Whiteford, MD, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Violette (Norris) Griffin.

Virginia was a 1949 graduate of the former Highland High School in Street, MD and had been employed by the former Bata Shoe Company in Belcamp, MD. Virginia then worked as a mateer filler for BD Diagnostics in Cockeysville from 1967 until her retirement in 1981. To say she was obsessed with NASCAR racing would be an understatement, especially with Dale Earnhardt, Sr. When the race was on – it was do not disturb Virginia as well as her enjoyment of Earnhardt memorabilia including floor mats in her car.

She is loving remembered by:
A daughter, Donna Pauline Anders Bryant and her husband, Donnie of Martinsville, VA

Three grandchildren: Scott, Kevin and Crystal

Four great grandchildren: Codi, Caitlyn, Seth and Ava

Her adoring niece, Rose as well as additional nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by:
Her first husband, Fred Anders dying during the Korean War in 1951 while serving in the US Army.
Her second husband, Robert E. Fitch, Jr. in 1969
Her daughter, Patricia Faye Wilhite in 1957 at the age of 3 years
Her beloved sisters: Margarine Norris and Olive E. Hutton and brothers: Charlie Griffin and Bill Griffin.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. followed immediately with the funeral service. Interment will be held in Holly Hill Cemetery, Middle River, MD.

Reverend Nathan Kilgore will officiate.
