Life Story for Marian L. Martin

MARIAN L. MARTIN, 82 of Fawn Grove, PA, formerly of North East, MD died on Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Citizens Care Center in Havre de Grace, MD. Born on April 24, 1936 in Richmond, VA, she was a daughter of the late Laban and Elsie (Tibbitt) Mayes. Marian had shared over 30 years with Franklin Delano Clinton when he passed away in 2016.

Marian had worked as a maintenance inspector for Aberdeen Proving Ground for many years, as well as in retail sales, grocery and farming. She enjoyed the simple things in life: being at home, making crafts, gardening and was known to be generous always giving to charities. Her family commented that she had a kind spirit, an outgoing personality and always treated people well.

She is survived by:
Two sons-
Michael Martin and his wife, Kathy of Fawn Grove, PA
David Martin and his wife, Betty of Conway, SC

A sister, Patricia Taylor of Rileyville, VA

Two granddaughters-Nicole and Gabrielle

Loving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Ivan Mayes, Raymond Mayes and Betty Houlihan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with Lay Minister Carol Burkindine of The Peach Bottom Charge officiating. Marian’s family would like to invite everyone to a time of fellowship and refreshments where they will be greeting their guests immediately following the service in the Fawn United Methodist Church Social Hall, 67 S. Market Street, Fawn Grove, PA.

A private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
