Obituary

CONSTANCE THELMA BAKER, 79 of Delta, PA died on Friday, January 18, 2019 in her home. Married on February 2, 1957, she had shared 61 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Stephen Baker.

Born on November 25, 1939 in Bowie, MD, she was a daughter of the late Albert Newton and Mary Bessie (Durling) Smith and had worked as a technician for the former Westinghouse Corporation that was later acquired by American Technology Corporation in Baltimore. A longtime resident of Delta, she and her family had originally lived in Baltimore. Mrs. Baker enjoyed camping, traveling-especially to the Bahamas. During her visits to the shore, she would collect shells and sand to create artistic projects upon her return home. Her family commented that she enjoyed gardening and was a loving wife and mother.

Especially because of all you have went through in this life. My condolences to the Baker families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Constance. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering.
