We will miss you Mammaw so very much! I can still hear your voice when we sing certain songs in church. You always had a smile, laugh and a kind word. Your laugh was one of my favorite things, you would get so tickled and everyone else couldn't help but laugh along with you. You truly had such a devotion for the Lord and his light and joy were always on your face. Your legacy lives on and we will see you again one day. I'm so happy you can walk and talk with Jesus hand in hand. We will love and miss you always. Tony, Cassie and Zachariah Miller

Mammaw, I will never forget your gift for singing. It was a voice that lives in the hearts and memories of those that love you. I hear its echo everytime one of the old hymns is sang. I treasure the honor of getting to play piano for you to sing congregationals for many years. You taught me what it meant to praise the Lord in song. I will never forget. Til we meet again. Your granddaughter, Michele Hensley Miller

My father, Herbert Hensley, wanted me to post this for him: Mary Hensley, mother, Sunday School teacher, mentor, friend, and prayer warrior. She is missed.

I wish we could have another bowl of popcorn and another cup of coffee together. I will always cherish the visit she made to Missouri. We both liked our Hallmark Hall of Fame movies. It was during that visit way before I was married I promised her I would name my future daughter after her. I kept my promise 7 years later with Merry Katherine. She was so excited to meet her but it never happened. I do my best to tell all my children how appreciative I am Mary C. Hensley was my Grandmother. I tell them I am a much different person because of her influence I’ll never forget the wonderful church services we were in and Mammaw singing “If we never meet again” wiping her tears with her flowered handkerchief. She was a incredible Sunday School teacher who really cared for her students. She always sought to warn us of the destruction of sin and to remind us we couldn’t escape its consequences. Some of us listened and still others spurned her godly counsel, which the years have only proven how right she was to have called out to us ,with such earnest pleadings. I thank the Lord her heart isn’t burdened anymore but may we not forget her warnings and thank the Lord for the loving care she tried to show us all. I love you, Mammaw! I’m grateful God is not a God of the dead but of the living, so live on, Mammaw, live on! Laura Hensley Grapes
