Eldridge was a church buddy. I was the principal of our church Christian school and he was a board member. While our first school building was being erected in 1978 he would donate his time, every Saturday, to clean up the construction debris made by the workers. I also remember spending about two months of Saturday work collecting roots, rocks and small branches from our newly cleared soccer field and tossing them in the back of his pickup truck. He was not only generous with his time but also with his money. For several months the school was short on paying teacher salaries and he would donate the difference needed. He and I would travel to preacher meetings together and I always enjoyed our fellowship. I consider Eldridge a generous servant of the Lord and I look forward to seeing him in heaven. Sandra and I are praying for Jane and the family.
