Life Story for Etta J. Sizemore
ETTA J. SIZEMORE, 81 years of Fawn Grove, PA died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in York Hospital. Etta met her devoted husband, Jordan R. Sizemore at the former Collinsville Discount Center/Auction and they were together from the day they met. Married on September 25, 1954, they had shared over 64 years of marriage.
Born on May 15, 1937 in Pound, VA, she was a daughter of the late G. Burton and Alta Pearl (Sturgill) Sowards. Family was everything to Etta. She was a devoted wife caring for the home, cherished mother raising the children, sewing matching outfits for all seven, adored her grandchildren and the great grandchildren. She always found time to go shopping with her sisters or to host the family holiday dinners that she continued to insist to hold in her home. Her family remarked that she was an outstanding cook, baker, gardener and still canned her homegrown vegetables. One of their fondest memories is the fantastic meals she prepared in the kitchen wood stove.
Etta enjoyed traveling, had visited numerous states, and was always excited to travel outside the U.S., especially the islands. A devout Christian, she loved her Lord and was currently worshipping at Gorham Baptist Church. Etta leaves behind precious memories with everyone and anyone she had met.

She was preceded in death by eight siblings
Visitations will be held at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with the first on Sunday, October 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Monday, the 29th from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jason Keenan of Gorham Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Pylesville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to Gorham Baptist Church, 805 Gorham Road, Brogue, PA 17309.
