LORRAINE W. DOUGHERTY, 91 of Pylesville, MD, died on Monday, December 10, 2018 in Forest Hill Heights, Forest Hill, MD. She had shared 56 years of marriage with her late husband, James D. Dougherty who died in January of 2004.

Born on August 1, 1927 in Monkton, MD, Lorraine was a daughter of the late Abram Wood and Eliza Frances (Hash) Wood, a 1944 graduate of the former Jarrettsville High School and had attended Thompson Business School. Married on February 5, 1947, Lorraine not only became Jimmy’s wife, she was his lifelong business partner running the family farm, was the farm bookkeeper, homemaker and loving raised seven children. Continuing in the Dougherty Family tradition that has lasted for over 100 years, Lorraine joined St. Mary Catholic Parish when she married and was a devoted member for over 70 years. Her children remarked that she was a talented seamstress and baked the best pies in Harford County.

Timothy Dougherty and his wife, ThuAn of Aberdeen, MD

Ten grandchildren-
Joseph Citrano, Erin Wiley, Kristen Kober, Melissa Maloney, Meghan Boyer, Maya Dougherty, John Regan, James Regan, Evan Dougherty and Graham Dougherty.

Ten great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Henry Boyer and sister, Mabel Shook.

Viewings will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on TUESDAY, December 18, 2018 at 10 a.m. in her church, St. Mary Catholic Parish, 1021 St. Mary’s Road, Pylesville, MD. Parish priest, Reverend A. Henry Kunkel, III will be the celebrant with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
