CHARLES THOMAS SMITH, 72 of Stewartstown, PA died on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in SpiriTrust - Shrewsbury, PA. He was the beloved husband of Gloria (Heare) Smith, and they had shared over 43 years of marriage.

Born on October 19, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Thomas Craig and Blanche A. (Knight) Smith and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1963 – 1967. Originally from Baltimore, Charles had moved to Pennsylvania 24 years ago. Retiring in 1995, Charles had worked as a transmission lineman for B.G.E. in the Baltimore area. He enjoyed being outdoors, woodworking, working on old cars, fishing and camping. He treasured times spent with his family.

A daughter, Penny Lynn Oberg and her husband, Matt of Guthrie, OK

Five loving grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lora Hahn.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with military honors presented at 4 p.m. by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. There will not be any additional public services.

Funeral staff will be outside during all services to assist with parking as well as handicap needs.
