Life Story for Stanley B. Snodgrass
STANLEY B. SNODGRASS, 80 years of Delta, PA died on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in his home. Married for 47 years in December 2017, he was the beloved husband of Michele M. “Mike” (Conlon) Snodgrass. Born on May 28, 1938 in York, PA, he was a son of the late Howard Willis and Hazel Alice (Dunlap) Snodgrass. Stanley graduated from Kennard Dale High School in 1956 and served in the U. S. Army. Stanley was a member and past master of Friendship Lodge #663 F&AM of Fawn Grove, the Mason Dixon Lions Club, Delta Fish and Game in addition to the Whiteford American Legion Post #182. Stanley retired from the Philadelphia Electric Company where he had worked as a lineman followed by many years of service with the Pleasant Valley Golf Club of Stewartstown, PA.
A lifetime member of Slateville Presbyterian Church, Stanley was a dedicated member and had served as an elder, trustee, Sunday school teacher, a faithful bass in the church choir for over 60 years and served on the cemetery association board of directors. Stanley was known to be an avid hunter and golfer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
A daughter, Charity L. Snodgrass of Fernandina Beach, FL
A brother, Ralph A. Snodgrass and his wife, Gail of Stewartstown, PA
Two nieces-Teresa Lynn Jones and Deanna Lynn Holloway
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Slateville Presbyterian Church, 308 Slateville Road, Delta, PA with his pastor, Reverend Kenneth Osborne officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
Family will greet everyone in the church social hall during the luncheon following the committal service. There will not be a visitation prior to the funeral.
His family would appreciate memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to Slateville Presbyterian Church, %Patty Fantom, 61 Poplar View Dr., Delta, PA 17314; please indicate on your check for the organ fund or cemetery endowment fund.
