In loving memory, the family of HUGH C. GRIFFITH Jr. devoted father and husband have prepared this obituary:
Hugh Clifton Griffith Jr. of Delta tragically passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 following an accidental injury. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Amy Sue Griffith, and a daughter, Catrin Griffith, 12, two brothers Richard and David, and a sister Ann Kettner.

He was a long term member and organist for the Church of the Ascension Scarbourgh and an employee of Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. Hugh graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1973, Olivet College in 1977, received his Master of Arts from the Medieval Institute at Western Michigan University and a second Master of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. His Master’s thesis for WMU is still used in research on the Crusades by scholars from around the world. He also edited manuscripts and books for authors.

Hugh was a four year varsity wrestler at Olivet College and was invited to the US Olympic tryouts. He was also a coach in university programs and an ardent support of collegiate wrestling throughout his life.

Hugh was a member of Cor Rehoboth Welsh Choir in Delta, toured in Wales and sang at the wedding of Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas in New York City, as well as many functions throughout the region.
