Life Story for Pastor Arthur "Art" Ray Dean, Jr.

Pastor Arthur "Art" Ray Dean, Jr.
ARTHUR RAY DEAN, JR., 62 of Pequea, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Lancaster General Hospital. Married on March 19, 1977, he was the devoted husband of Becky Ann (Aults) Dean with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Born on October 4, 1955 in Altoona, PA, he was a son of the late Arthur Ray Dean, Sr., and Joyce LaRue (Degenhardt) Dean and a 1973 graduate of Penn Manor High School. A veteran of the United States Army, upon completing his military service, Art worked as a printer for Intelligencer Printing Company, Acorn Press and served as vice president of Wickersham Printing Company. He then was an owner/operator of Mats from Flats where he worked alongside of his wife, Becky for nearly 10 years. Art pursued his degree in ministry from Lancaster Bible College, receiving his diploma in May of 2010 while working as associate pastor of New Covenant Community Church from October 2005 until his passing. Art was on the board of directors and held the office of secretary for Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries –a Christ centered orphanage on the island of Roatan, Honduras.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Three children-
Moriah Dean of Mt. Joy, PA
Meghan Dinges of Pequea, PA
Bryan Dean of Washington Boro, PA

Three brothers-
Jeff Dean of Ocala, FL
Scott Dean of Lancaster, PA
Greg Dean of Millersville, PA

Five grandchildren: Amber Dean, Emma Dinges, Natalia Santiago, Sadie Dean and Dawson Dean.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in New Covenant Community Church, 284 Slab Road, Delta, PA 17314. The family will greet guests after the service during the fellowship time.

In lieu of flowers, his family would prefer memorial contributions to the Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries, c/o New Covenant Community Church at the above address to be used for the building of a church in Roatan, Honduras. Please indicate your gift is in Art’s memory.
