Life Story for Betty Ruth Marrs
BETTY RUTH MARRS, 85 years of Dallastown, formerly of Fawn Grove, PA, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Manor Care-Dallastown. She was the wife of the late William K. Marrs who died on February 19, 2003.
Born on January 4, 1933 in Tazewell County, VA, she was one of thirteen children born to the late Fieldon and Ida (Harrison) Mitchell and grew up in a close family where cousins were always over to play and share family meals. A homemaker and mother, she enjoyed gardening as well as sharing the vegetables with her neighbors and family members. Canning and cooking were her favorite activities; she dedicated most of her adult life caring for her daughter, Jewel Ann, until her death in June of 2013.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Young, Joseph A. Mitchell and Hannah Daughtery.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday.
Reverend James B. Shuler of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Airville, PA will officiate with interment in Union Chapel Cemetery, Delta, PA.
