Obituary for Robert Stephen Hills

Robert Stephen  Hills
ROBERT STEPHEN HILLS, 73, of Delta, PA, peacefully passed away on October 16, 2017 in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born on December 26, 1943 in Maury Town, VA, he was a son of the late Kenneth James and Ruth Frances (Cooper) Hills.

After graduating South Hagerstown High School in 1963, Bob joined the U.S. Army for four years. A longtime member of St. Mary of the Assumption, Pylesville, MD, he was an employee at Fountainhead Country Club in Hagerstown, MD, a food and beverage manager at Towson Golf & Country Club in Phoenix, MD and a steward at the VFW in Delta, PA. Adventurous, Bob traveled to several places like New York City, Canada and especially loved traveling to the beach in Florida. He also enjoyed gardening, collecting coins and entertaining those around him. Along with spending time with his loved ones, Bob was a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles.

Bob’s memory will be cherished by:

12 nieces and nephews

A close friend and companion, Glenn Grove of Delta, PA.

He is also preceded in death by his sister, Mary L. Golden

A ceremonial mass to honor Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at St. Mary of the Assumption, 1021 Saint Marys Rd, Pylesville, MD 21132 at 10 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption to the above address or to the Kauffman Cancer Center Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, 520 Upper Chesapeake Drive, Suite 405, Bel Air, MD 21014. Flowers are also welcome.
