Jarl Sprott McDaniel 91, died June 21, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. He was born November 22, 1925 to Archie Simms McDaniel and Margaret Forbis McDaniel in Washington, DC, and married Margaret Bodine on June 5, 1953 in Darlington, Maryland. He was a sales manager for General Foods for 32 years. A veteran, he served in the Navy and Army Coast Guard in addition to being a member of National Rifle Association. Jarl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peg McDaniel. He is survived by his daughter, Beth Ray of Dallas, Texas, Susan Hill and husband, David of British Columbia, Canada; grandson, Michael Colton Ray. A kind gracious and loving father and friend, he will be missed. Mr. McDaniel was known to tell a great story-- some of it true, but it was always entertaining. Everyone he met was a friend. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Jude's Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Darlington Cemetery with Reverend Deon Thompson of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Darlington, MD presiding. Military honors will be presented by the United States Naval Honor Guard.
