James Ernest  Comer
JAMES ERNEST COMER, age 79 years, of Street, MD, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was the husband of Martha Ellen (Sturgis) Comer with whom he had shared nearly 60 years of marriage.

Born on February 28, 1938 in Highland, MD, he was a son of the late Marion P. and Clara S. (Cole) Comer. A lifetime resident of Harford County, he was a talented carpenter. Early in his career, he formed Jimbo Construction and after many years, sold the business. He then worked as a self-employed contractor building houses. He faithfully attended Delta Church of the Nazarene where he built the new church social hall. He was known for his humor, loving to tell jokes and making everyone laugh. Singing with his wife, Martha and additional family members was very special to Jim. He truly enjoyed receiving greeting cards and spending time with his loving family was his greatest treasure.

Eight siblings; Paul Comer, Anna Belle Daughton, Pearl Leona Sturgis, Breece Comer, Barbara Smith, Bobby Comer, Pauline Testerman and Patti Peck,

Eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grand children

James was preceded in death by his son, James Michael Comer, and two sisters, Lorraine McGrady Plank and Mary Elizabeth Collins.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Delta Church of the Nazarene, 6610 Delta Road, PA 17314, with Reverend Robert J. Reiter officiating. Immediately following the service a luncheon will be served in the church social hall. There will not be any public interment services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in James’s name can be sent to Delta Church of the Nazarene, to the above address.
