Life Story for John T. "Tommy" McAllister

John T. "Tommy"  McAllister
JOHN T. “TOMMY” McALLISTER, 87 years of Delta, PA, died on Monday, October 10, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Born on January 24, 1929, he was a son of the late Whitmer A. and Lottie (Devoe) McAllister. Married for 58 years, he was the husband to the late Bertha (Frey) McAllister.

Mr. McAllister was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard serving from July 9, 1946 to November 30, 1955.

Tommy was a self-starter and very hard-working with many interests. In his youth he worked with at the service station for Jess Kolhbus then delivered fuel for Dave Wheeler. Interested in home construction, he started his own business in heating, then later as a carpenter. He was also employed at Bowen & McLaughlin and the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Plant. His final business endeavor was as the owner and operator of the Triple M Restaurant.

Tommy was actively involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He and Bertha would travel to Potter County where they could enjoy the mountains together. Tommy will be missed for his fun loving humor.

He is survived by:

Bobby McAllister and his wife Sherri
Brian McAllister and his wife Misty

A graveside service with Military Honors presented by the York County Honor Guard will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 2:45 p.m. in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA. John Delozier will officiate.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Delta Borough Park Fund, PO Box 278, Delta, PA 17314 or to the Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 15, Delta, MD 17314.
